Bairnsley Highlands

Nadurrach Dubh of Bairnsley (7286) {Bl}

Colour: Black (Bl-R - Heterozygous black)

DOB: 1-4-10

Comments:

Nelly was a naturally thick female & carries this width right through from her pins to her front end. Despite this, she had a well laid in shoulder and a clean brisket. She had a lovely short head, great feet (best depth of heel I have seen on a Highland cow) & a lovely udder, with small teat size. She stood naturally wide and with a post at each corner every time in the paddock.

Her fertility and ability to take to AI was remarkable - having had 9 calves (8 heifers & 1 bull) from 8 attempts at AI, which includes a set of heifer twins. She never missed to AI in the first round, and had never been served by a bull.
