Have your very own photo session with our professional photographer (Jess from Foxtail Photography), with our Highland cows and Highland Ponies, utilising the whole farm, farm buildings and animals.

Highland Cow Memories Session

Cost – $800 $400 includes:

  • We provide the photographer (and a guide/driver)
  • You have access to all animals & the entire property (paddocks and buildings) for your session
  • You can have up to three location set-ups
  • 6 high resolution digital images
  • Allow 2 hours for the session

Highland Cow Immersive Session

Cost – $1,200 $600 and includes:

  • We provide the photographer (& an experienced cattle / horse handler)
  • You have access to all animals & the entire property (paddocks and buildings) for your session
  • You can have up to six location set-ups
  • You get our quietest Highlands on a lead for up close and personal photography
  • 12 high resolution digital images
  • Allow 4 hours for the session

Highland Cow Customised Session

Cost – TBA (Contact us to discuss)

  • We provide the photographer (& an experienced cattle / horse handler)
  • We can customise a photographic session just for you
  • You have access to all animals & the entire property (paddocks and buildings), including Highland cattle and Highland Ponies on lead
  • Great for wedding photography (a wedding proposal – we guarantee she will say yes guys!), birthdays, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, anniversaries.

What you do:

  • Select your backdrops – open paddock, bush, dam, hay shed, shearing shed etc
  • Select which animals you want in the photos – Highland cow, bull, one year olds, or Highland ponies & foals
  • Show up at your booking time and we will do the rest
  • We provide you with your edited, high resolution images within 14 days of the photo shoot

 

What to know:

  • We provide the photographer (Jessica Taylor from Foxtail Photography),
  • The weather can vary, and our photographer can work with most weather conditions to make your images special.
  • What to wear? – boots that you are OK to get mud & manure on (& a weather proof jacket – we are happy to do tours in the rain if you are), and perhaps a change of clothes
  • Bookings are essential

Highland Cow Experience & Farm Tour – Want to get up close and personal with a Highland cow, or see a bunch of adorable Highland calves? Ride around in our 6-seater CanAm while we show you around our farm and get you scratching these beautiful bovines (as well as our Highland Ponies & their foals).

WE will share with you the story of this majestic breed, and our time with them, and there will be plenty of opportunities for photos. All this, and so close to Melbourne city and airport.

The Chalet

Accommodation

Accommodation is now available at “Ballybrook Farm” (or at “Cnoc Dubh Farm” 5 minutes down the road). If you simply want to get away from the hustle and bustle to the country or the bush, or just to be surrounded by nature on a working Highland cattle & Highland Pony farm, we have options for you.

From here, you can explore the scenery, wineries and history of the Macedon Ranges – all this and only 40 minutes from the centre of Melbourne and 30 minutes from Melbourne airport.

Paint, Pat & Pinot

* “Pat a Highland Cow” in the paddock on the farm.
* “Paint a Highland Cow” (we have a selection of images for you to paint – of the cows you will be patting).
* Sip your “Pinot” or other locally sourced wines while you paint (or sparkling water if you would prefer), and nibble on an antipasto plate while you create your own masterpiece.

All this under the guidance of our professional art instructor, Amber, of “Amber Paws Pet & Livestock Portraits”
