I am a pastel artist based in Lancefield, Victoria. A long-time doodler and animal lover, I turned my hand to creating personalised portraits using pastels, and get just as much enjoyment out of helping others find their inner artist to create their own masterpieces!

Highland cattle are a special favourite of mine to draw. With all that glorious hair, unique features and amazing colour range, what’s not to love! I find pastels are particularly good at showing the range of colours in a single beast, as well as realistically capturing the hairy textures. Luckily, at Bairnsley stud we can visit the animals in person and catch the special details that a photo can sometimes miss.

 

I am a very regular visitor and have a highland themed photo gallery on my phone to rival that of my own children. I especially love weaners with their multi coloured coats when losing their baby fuzz. I have been lucky enough to show some of my Highland artworks at the 2019 Highland Winter Feast and am looking forward to creating many more Hairy Coo artworks in the future.
