Comments:Hamish is another very traditional Highland bull that we feel will improve Highland character, fleshing and correctness in what is being bred in Australia currently. His strong topline, text-book pelvic set-up and good feet are just a part of why we have chosen to use this semen (and although there is very little of it left around now, thank goodness, his owner chose to collect his semen all those years back).
We purchased his embryo full sister, Airlie of Crannog Rhu ET (who we registered with the UK Highland Cattle Society - UK pedigree), when we were just starting out in the breed, and sadly she passed away from snake bite a few years later. She was a cow that we would gladly have a paddock full of today - a classic Highland type, fleshing, great udder and great feet.
I viewed Hamish as a mature bull and can vouch for his correctness, feet and his fluid movement. The image above was just him standing under a tree in the paddock that day. I saw a number of his full sibs, and half sibs (by Neoineag Og) and they were all tremendous examples of the breed - I wish I had purchased them all!
