Comments:  No other foundation female has had the influence on our fold like old Molly. She was a prolific, fertile cow who's appearance belied her ability to produce champions. She was a female producer (as have many of her calves been) - her first eight calves being heifers. She had natural thickness and depth and was very square through the legs. Although never handled as a youngster, she was very trusting and naturally quiet - all of her calves have been a pleasure to break in.

At 15 years of age she was put down because a malignant cancer but not after producing 12 calves. She was very milky, weaning 4 of our top 5 heaviest calves that we have grown out to that time (2 of which were heifers). While she put a lot into her calves, she never failed to get back in calf first cycle.

Her colouring was an unusual dark red (mahogany as we call it) with white tips through the dossan, topline and the tip of the tail. This dominant gene has been passed onto many of her offspring and looks quite striking as yearlings striding around in the show ring. (see Mahogany Coat Colour Changes)
